FROM ONE WAR TO ANOTHER, 1914-1945

Educational film concert for younger generations.

A hundred years ago, from Verdun to Auschwitz, the world marched toward the abyss.

FROM ONE WAR TO ANOTHER, 1914-1945

A historical and musical performance to promote the learning of citizenship, the spirit of solidarity, and tolerance as a barrier against racism, antisemitism, and all forms of discrimination.

The cine-concert From One War to Another, 1914-1945 was written and directed by Serge de Sampigny. It is a unique live performance of its kind.

As archival footage is projected, two young actors—a man and a woman—read letters on stage written by witnesses of the time, from France, Germany, Spain, and Italy between 1914 and 1945, while a symphony orchestra performs music composed by Patrice d’Ollone.

Since its creation with the Orchestra of the Republican Guard in January 2023 at the Grand Rex in Paris, the show has brought together over 10,000 spectators, including 6,000 young people.

A TOUR ACROSS THE REGIONS

In 2025, the cine-concert reached out to young people from the academies of Bordeaux, Paris-Créteil, Nancy-Metz, and Reims.

This performance must now reach young Europeans in Germany, Italy, Spain, and Belgium.

« Those who do not know their history are at risk of seeing it repeat itself »

Classroom Preparation

Before the performance, a preparation for the show is offered in the classroom with two educational workshops:
